Our General Purpose . . .

As a group, we share a common desire to live out our Christian life with integrity.

While belonging to different church traditions and
attending seven different churches/denominations in the Kingston area,
(please see our Other Links page)
we are united in
praying for, supporting and encouraging each other
in many practical ways.

Our general purpose is to dedicate
our varied gifts,
life experiences and expertise
both to our respective churches and to the wider community.

We also respect and value individual callings and commitments.

Our Statement of Purpose . . .

Sydenham Woods Frontenac Association

“Sydenham Woods Frontenac Association” refers to both a community and to a property. The tract of land known as Sydenham Woods was sought out, discovered and purchased in a spirit of prayer and dependence upon God. As stewards of the grace and gifts of God, the Association pledges to maintain it as a base for Christian community and service.
The families and individuals associated at Sydenham Woods purpose to use the property as follows:
1. To provide a physical, social and spiritual environment where families, couples and individuals of similar biblically—based faith and commitment will be able to express to each other support, care and encouragement in Christian discipleship, in a spirit of Christian love.

2. To serve as a base for ministry outside the community itself. Some of its members may wish to offer help, guidance, instruction, rest and the means of emotional healing in the name of Jesus Christ to people invited from outside the community. It is understood that this will be accompanied by the prayers, encouragement and support of other members of the Association. It is the general purpose of community members also to dedicate their varied gifts, life experience and expertise to churches of their choice, and to address social issues or concerns in the surrounding areas, or wherever God leads.

Sydenham Woods community members understand that their association is based on a common faith in Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord. All matters pertaining to their common life and ministry will be based upon an earnest seeking of God’s will and direction, through the study of the Bible as the Divinely inspired Word of God, through open and loyal dialogue, and through prayer.
